Program Requirements
- Complete LA DCFS pre-employment screening (Livescan, physical examination)
- Sign a contract for two years of full-time post-graduation employment at LA DCFS
- Maintain enrollment in the MSW program with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Hold a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Select the Child and Family Wellbeing specialization for the final year
- Complete LA DCFS-related coursework, including SW 643 and the LA DCFS Stipend Orientation
- Attend mandatory DCFS training, seminars, and events
- Successfully complete two practicum placements in child welfare
Note: Students who fail to meet program requirements may be responsible for repayment of the stipend.
